The OCT (Optical Coherence Tomograph) is a highly advanced imaging system that checks for potentially serious conditions including glaucoma, diabetes, age related macular degeneration, vitreous detachments and more. It captures both 2D and 3D images, which means we can detect a large number of ocular conditions quickly and easily.
Repeated OCTs help us monitor your vision year on year, enabling us to refer you quickly for specialist help and treatment if necessary

The Optomap is a specialist piece of equipment that takes an ultra-wide image of the retina at the back of the eye. Corsham Opticians has invested in an ultra-wide field Optomap for your safety and comfort, while giving us the ability to see much more of your eye in an instant.
Conventional methods of viewing the retina only sees a very small area, typically 10-15%, whereas the widefield Optomap takes an image that is 200 degrees in size or 82% of the retina in one flash taking just half a second.
It is completely painless with nothing touching your eye. More importantly it can be done without having to dilate your pupil which can be very inconvenient and time consuming.

The Ocular Surface Analyser is specifically for diagnosis and management of Dry Eye Disease and Meibomium Gland Dysfunction. This very common complaint is most uncomfortable and has symptoms such as watery, itchy, sore, dry eyes. Dry Eye Disease may give variable vision towards the end of the day making your eyes feel heavy and tired, and is more common as we age. It is particularly prevalent for those using screens a lot of the day, contact lens wearers, and those with underlying health issues.
The tear film consists of three layers, of which any or all of the layers can be compromised. Our specialist OSA machine will be able to detect which layer or layers are incomplete, enabling us to target your treatment more efficiently.
